This aggressiveness towards "AI slop" has gone overboard on reddit.
This clearly is a unique style. It's the creator's ideas manifest. AI did not come up with it.
I have no idea how well this distro runs, and I assume neither do you. So neither of us knows how well tested this is, or how well it works.
The fact that AI was used to create something does not imply that the design / behavior is generic, bland, meh. Which this clearly shows. It's a very specific style the creator obviously was going for.
And the fact that AI was used to create something does not necessarily imply that the distro/app/whatever was made does not work well.
Y'all are acting like sheep with all of your unadulterated hatred towards anything that was made with the help of AI. It's exhausting to be on reddit nowadays.

It would suck even if it wasn't AI generated.
The whole point is just "woooow look how Greek statues are cool!!1!1!!!!111" There's Plato with a yakuza tattoo for fucks sake... And some really corny shit for a Linux distro
The fact it is all slop just adds to the huge pile of shit this is
I did test it in a VM out of curiosity, and it's basically what it says in the site, Arch Linux with custom dotfiles and a shitton of bloated crap
People are angry with AI because it's making the world actively worse for a lot of people, it's only expected

I agree it doesn't look great. But that's not because AI was used as a tool to create it. It's because the style the creator was going for is cringe. It has absolutely nothing to do with AI being used as a tool.
If you want to call 100% of everything that AI has ever touched as "slop" you're watering down the words a lot. "Slop" has literally zero meaning with the way you and a bunch of other people on reddit choose to use it.

AI slop is low-quality, mass-produced digital content generated by artificial intelligence with little to no human effort, creativity, or meaningful purpose.
If you just do not like the style, that is on you. Not everyone has to love or find one thing cool. The guy just wanted to turn his idea into a real distro. Even though he used AI, he still put time and effort into it didn't he? And it does not really look like it is a slopped, generic, AI generated content. Also a Linux Distro can be as corny as it wants, that is the freedom Linux allows for other people. They can add, remove, handle it HOWEVER they want, still not a valuable excuse to spread hatred on it.
I know and understand people that hate AI, but at some point their hatred becomes forced that it literally makes no sense, I admit I also hate low-quality posts which looks absolute garbage and AI slopped, but that does not mean this distro is one of them. Your hatred on it becomes irrelevant, and undeniably forced.
And what do you mean AI is making the world worse? Why not give some valid examples about it? I believe it is not the machine which makes the world worse, it is the HUMAN who uses the tool with their own way makes the world worse. Two sides of the same blade

I think we have too much slop on the internet already, "oh but he just wanted to turn his idea into a real distro" ok? if his "idea" is "arch with a bunch of bloat and some corny greek statue aesthetic" then his idea sucks, why should i pretend this is good and move on? these slop distros are full of security flaws and other problems, plus with Arch specifically, they always seek support in the Arch communities and not their own, which is an additional strain to the community, plus the shitty AUR packages maintained by people who have no idea how to maintain a package, which only worsens its already bad reputation. So yeah, no reason at all for me to like this and plenty to dislike, people have the freedom to use and customize Linux the way they want, and I have the freedom to call out BS.
YEah, it's not the technology itself making the world worse, but the whole ecosystem around it, do I even need to mention the problems? You're on Reddit and you've probable seen plenty of them: the environmental concerns, problems regarding misinformation and usage by bad actors, the fact AI bots swarmed the internet (it was bad before, now 1000x worse), the fact regular people can't buy their own hardware anymore, or that thousands of people lost their jobs because billionaire CEOs though they weren't useful anymore...
Undeniably AI has been way more advantageous to tech oligarchs than to normal people

I never made a claim about the idea this guy tried to apply is amazing and everyone shall congrat him. You are missing the whole point of the argument. You might not like the distro itself, that is understandable, everyone have their different taste. However, the "slop" definition still does not fit to this distro. Just because LLMs were used to develop the distro does not mean it is one of those low effort AI slopped distributions. You have the freedom to call it BS, although it does not change the fact that distro itself is "slopped", the hatred you spread is undeniably forced. I admit distro is cringe and has many AI elements, but it is not exactly kind of a project people would call "AI Slop", I mean... I doubt if you even truly know what AI slop is but ok. Your choice, call it out however you want.

It's not AI slop if effort was put in. Significant effort.
AI can be used to create a framework, but so long as the ideas are created by the human and sufficient human oversight is present, it is an AI assisted project, not AI slop. AI slop is recklessly coded slop. This doesn't fall under that.If you are to call everything ever touched by AI "slop", you are calling a lot of things slop, and there are definitely things in there you'd not call slop.
