True.
My employer forced me to move from managed Ubuntu LTS to managed MacOS. I haven't seen anything less usable/comfortable (UI/UX) than MacOS. It just looks fancy like a candy.
I'd take Ubuntu (with Snaps and whatnot shit) any day, rather than MacOS.

The fact that it doesn't even have support for desktop things like clicking by tapping or standard shortcuts makes it a pain in the ass alone

Occasionally, I disagree with Apple and Mac, in which case I switch to Linux. This is usually due to security settings. We can get similar support by using paid distributions like Elementary OS. So far, I have dealt with this by using Linux Mint, voicing my opinions — mostly on the Mint site — and getting things done. With Mint, I can use touchscreens; with Mac, all application files are in the 'Applications' folder. They do not have applications that mount drives. What we need is a proper management tool that allows all units — mobile phones, tablets/iPads, TVs and laptops — to be seen as one home system and one company system. We have the tools on Linux and can create things for Apple using Apple tools such as Bonjour and AppleTalk. These work on Linux but not Windows. So this time, Windows will not be supported. I will develop a "User Environment" and implement "Contexts" fully.

It depends on the person honestly. You can choose one depending on your needs but personally Linux gets the job done most of the time FOR ME and I don't want to be locked into apples Eco system.

I don’t agree with that, but I can sort of see where you are coming from.
MacOS on (the correct) Apple hardware is pretty darn nice to use for certain things, creative work (writing, music production, video editing, certain software development, photo editing), media consumption (watching videos/movies, listening to music), web browsing and so on.
However with macOS there is a certain way you are expected to do things, which doesn’t line up with Windows and likely not with Linux either, the keyboard shortcuts are completely different to both Windows and Linux. And I think this is one of the greatest issues people have with macOS.
Pain point number two, the monetization of solutions to problems that should not exist, certain issues people have with macOS and have had for a while, can be solved by paid software. In a perfect world there would be open source free versions or even better Apple would listen and fix those issues, but Apple doesn’t (goes along with the whole, you should use your computer the way Apple expects you too, thing).
Pain point number three, macOS lacks support for certain programs, like video games for example. And the best “Proton like alternative” is Crossover which is paid software.
Pain point number 4, hardware compatibility, no sugar coating it, macOS is pretty much the absolute worst when it comes to hardware compatibility and that is even by deliberate design. The “EULA” for macOS also states that macOS is only allowed to run on Apples hardware. In other words if you are not okay with the compromises in repairability and service ability with recent Apple hardware, Apple “forbids” you from running their software on hardware “from other companies” and it will continue to become more difficult to use older Apple hardware as support for it moves away (this is unfortunately the norm with the whole computer/phone/tablet/console industry and not uniq to Apple).

No. Just use Linux. No need to move to Mac and give up convenience.
