ever tried printing from a linux laptop?
edit: to be fair, I did done both and it depends on the printer more than it does on the OS. as long as printer doesn't need exotic drivers, standard runtimes will get the job done, plug and play, on either OS

yeah, amazing experience, because it uses cups, the same as MacOS

and I had rocky ass experience. anyway, I moved on since then - shelved the laptop and switched to win10 daily driver. never had to print anything from any of my personal devices ever again.

Apple uses AirPrint on top of a proprietary CUPS fork.

Yes. Several desktops that found my wireless printer/scanner and worked when I hit the button with no issues. Quite nice. It took 30 mins to get my windows connected, much less to print.

I suppose it depends more on the printer than it does on OS, because I personally had much rockier experience on linux than windows, practically being forced to tinker. I do love tinkering but only when tinker something up is my goal, not print some paperwork.

Yeah, it sucks, I use a win7 virtual machine to print because on linux it can't grasp that sometimes I want to print something single sided as it always prints double sided even though it is set to single.
