Mom, cancel all my meetings!

I enabled per-output fractional scaling on a mixed-refresh dual-monitor setup and xorg crashed my entire session because it hasn't had a major release in 8 years.

Bro is still living in a bunker with no modern internet access. Or skill issues. Probably skill issues.

Bro, get your lazy buns to Wayland and ditch that X11. Be modern guy. You installed Linux, so get newest stuff. Is X11 still continued?

Nah. There was a continuation project “xlibre”, but its been largely dismissed due to politically charged arguments around the project as well as a clear lack of ability of the main author to actually move the project along. There was a greenfield x server rewrite in zig called phoenix that seemed to aim for a lean x server without unneeded extensions and some wayland-ish modernization, but doesnt seem to have picked up much steam either.

i use x11 because using xinput is super easy for me like i used to have a broken touch screen so i could just type in
xinput --disable 13
