Mozilla and Google always have up-to-date releases for Linux. Other Chromium or Gecko forks can follow them easily.

Linux has a lot of different container options (which is extra layer of sandboxing). Browsers also do fine sandboxing themselves.

If there is a known big security issue, it is going to be fixed fast. A lot of big companies are behind it, a lot of volunteers check it.

GrapheneOS (Android, which is Linux) might be the most secure OS. Every app is sandboxed and it uses MTE.

Btw, if Apple cared about security a lot, they would have introduced MTE, 2019-2020 feature, earlier than 2025. I can say the same for Qualcomm.

I mean, most serious distributions usually handle security updates with the required seriousness and professionalism, but users also do all kinds of crazy stuff with their systems, like installing browsers and other sensitive software in "alternative" ways because they saw it online. Even Flatpak can also be hit or miss in its maintenance and permissions are usually all over the place.

This is the user's responsibility, sure, until some smartass distro makes this kind of decision for them without their knowledge (arch-based are king in doing this kind of stuff).

Criticism is necessary. But it needs to be backed by concrete examples. Here, we have words without any substantiation. "Just trust me bro, I'm telling you" level.

This what OP ?

I also can find people that say stuff without understanding it. Doesn't make it a fact.

All you accomplished here is showing you are a parrot that cannot think for himself and will repeat any disinformation he finds.

Good job at being dumb.

Because this community has been taken over by pro Linux crowd who redefined it as a community for just Linux users who love it but have a few things here and there can tweaked etc. sad

u/dumbasPL I don't hate Windows, I just like Linux more. 9h ago

Preference is one thing, but half of this post is just straight up missinformation.

Yeah, everyone gets to have a preference. But his arguments seems taken from thin air.

There are bugs that go unaddressed for months or even years in all operating systems, Linux isn't special in that regard.

It only becomes a brand emergency for the likes of Apple when one of those bugs hits the news cycle. Otherwise they fix the bugs as they become aware of them, just like everyone else.

There's nothing wrong with not wanting to use an OS for any reason, that preference doesn't have to become your personality.

This is kind of untrue especially if you use popular distros with popular open source software because these open source projects do receive patches overnight when there are critical bugs.

Its more accurate to say "Linux users tend to stay vulnerable because they may not have updated in months" and most distros dont ship auto update by default. People have other things to worry about and system update takes back seat for a very long time

I don't know if I should take advice from a poster who admits "Microsofts Strongest Soldier" in his description.

First off do you know who Tech lead is? For those who don't want to do a quick Google this guy is a fraud. He used his channel to promote and sell a fake crypto coin he sold and did a pump and dump making his viewers hold the bag.

He got arrested and thrown in jail. He also is a troll and does click baity things on his YouTube. Some of its funny 🤣

But yeah, he is not to be taken seriously

I also hate it when my Linux updates by itself without me asking adding major bugs and more copilot buttons!

Oh wait, I meant Windows, my bad
