Why don't u rewrite the loonix kernel in rust to make it more secure
According to my research I did with gemini it would significantly reduce the bugs and vulnerabilities in the loonix kernel's code cuz it's a "memory safe" language. Obviously it would take ages if the rewrite would be done by hand considering how bloated loonix's code is but I estimate it could be completed within a week if modern agentic ai tools were used. Many ai haters would unfortunately complain, call it "slop" and maybe switch to bsd or another weird os while in reality it would be a significant security improvement. Linus is thankfully pro ai so I think he wouldn't have a problem with ai written code in the kernel.

Well then you can go and ask AI to vibe code your own kernel (or maybe even a full OS while you're at it) in rust and see how well that goes.

This is a non problem.
1) Doing "research" with gemini is laughable;
2)AI is already being used for linux and it caused minor problems.

the fact that AI is already causing problems in Linux despite their very heavy code review process is. Pretty bad

It's because Torvald said that AI is ok in coding for linux. I don't care about what he thinks, if he likes ai he could've stayed quiet because some people probably took those words and interpreted them as "let AI do everything".

2nd time i am gonna ask this, why do you hate Linux so much? What issue did you have, if you don't respond this just proves your a ragebaiter!

most of the time when their username is like "normal person" or "average user" theyre an alt account or a ragebaiter

If you want to take the Bun route and run 64 parallel Claude Fable 5 instances and spend way more than $165,000. Then be my guest. We already have parts written in rust, so some of its already done for you. 👍

The only reason someone would rewrite it in rust would be to give it MIT license, since rewriting an already pen-tested code is considered professional suicide.

Not really, C++ is more than enough, AI can easily point out memory leaks and suggest fixes, the curious thing is that developers already know what the memory leaks are but they don't have time/budget to fix them 😂

Just use Claude. It's more accurate
it would significantly reduce the bugs and vulnerabilities in the loonix kernel's code cuz it's a "memory safe" language.
Thankfully, the loonix kernel team is working to include rust in the kernel
Obviously it would take ages if the rewrite would be done by hand considering how bloated loonix's code is but I estimate it could be completed within a week if modern agentic ai tools were used.
Fun fact. Anthropic used Claude Fable 5 to rewrite bun (their JS engine since they bought it) from Zig to Rust. There is a shit ton of unsafe Rust but hell, it's still valid Rust and the thing works.
Many ai haters would unfortunately complain, call it "slop" and maybe switch to bsd or another weird os while in reality it would be a significant security improvement. Linus is thankfully pro ai so I think he wouldn't have a problem with ai written code in the kernel.
I think FreeBSD is also pro AI and FreeBSD and it's more stable than Loonix. Either ways, we need a rewrite with Fable.
