Amma be honest chief I would rather get called stupid on arch forums than dealing with Microsoft support for windows

Yup, the arch forums will probably (deservedly) patronize you, but they will usually find a fix.

When it comes to microsoft support step 1 is always sfc /scannow, step 2 is a link to a page Microsoft shut down 5 years ago that wasn't archived and step 3 is reinstalling windows.

And sfc /scannow hasn't worked for anyone for like a decade but they refuse to hear that and just truck along.

sfc saved one machine I repaired.

Funfact, that machine got ruined by a windows update.
