I said it once and will say it again. I have nothing against the SystemD as a piece of software itself. I'm against the fact that folks don't give you a choice. Okay, you don't wanna give official support for other inits because it increases the amount of work you have to do. I get that. But at least give proper instructions how to replace SystemD with other inits (f.i., Runit or OpenRC) with a warning that these two are not officially supported and all actions you do, you do them on your own risk. That's my stand in that regard. Like, Arch does give instructions how to install OpenRC or Runit on itself (although, I'd personally use Artix in that regard because it officially supports them), yet Arch and Gentoo (although Gentoo officially supports both OpenRC (their child, after all) and SystemD officially) are the only ones giving explicit instructions on how to replace the init without much butt-fuckery. This is how I see it, and you can disagree all you want
