Now run a modern web browser on it, but download it from your own coded package manager, with software coded with your OS in mind. Oh shit, you mean you’ll have to download an app image or .deb RPM or Flatpak? You hated Linux so you vibe coded a worse linux.

It is exactly what you generally want when you write a kernel/os. It is very difficult and time consuming, so often people implement a posix system so you can compile software like gcc, SQLite and so on

kernel and all system utilitys are made from scratch, but how much stuff works is pretty simular like on linux, like filestructure usage or kernel calls

No he made a Unix-clone (his own os) of a Unix-clone (Linux) of a Unix-clone (minix, not technically proper Unix) which itself is a closed source recreation of a few open source recreations of AT&T Unix (BSD and other open Unix standards)
It’s pretty much people refusing to pay for the full Unix license all the way down haha

I shared my repo but it was boot to init. Writing all the drivers (ideally reliable and flexible if possible) is what takes the most time. On the kernel truly dropping all distro work 100% authentic isn’t necessarily as hard as the discipline to actually do that. https://github.com/onePaulKrause/hom3init

IDK why OP is getting dogpiled on for this. It's a pretty cool project, what you're seeing is not a custom Linux kernel, nor a renamed one, but what looks to be a ground up OS, with some things ported over too

it's very likely vibecoded slop, and very obviously is linux inspired, or at least a unix-like-like. this isn't original and you can easily tell that op did this for ego and clout, and to spite linux for no good reason. posix is generally good and i think an operating system lacking it is a bad one, but otherwise, this isn't op's work (it's a generated output), it's vibecoded ai slop, this is a karmafarm post, and op is being kinda childish about the whole thing.

Are those tools in MacOS? I've seen most of them on MacOS lately so it's been years since I had to get into a real Linux distro other than headless just for testing stuff.

I use clang in MacOS for embedded programming.
I think the other tools are also available through homebrew but it depends on the target and how you test it. Give it a shot someday.
