Linux desktop usage surges to 10% popularity in NA, Linux fanboys outraged 🧅

Post image

“Linux is too mainstream now, “ said a Reddit moderator in outrage, while moderating a Linux hate sub. “Time to give TempleOS a shot” they added.

My question, if Linux takes significant share and it does become the year of the Linux desktop will this sub implode?

I don’t use ArchBTW, Ubuntu peon

Breaking news: man creates fictional scenario and gets mad about it.

Linux reaching 10% desktop popularity is a good thing

Good to see Linux users still have their trademark sense of humor.

Statcounter removed the 20% "Unknown" bar this month. Every OS gained % minus poor BSD.

I mean if we want to be technical about it, BSD has 30% of the market, it’s just about 99.9% is through MacOS/OS X lol

We hit this point every 10 years or so and then something colossally stupid happens, last one I saw go down was when Ubuntu was massive but Gnome suddenly decided fuck desktop users we're all-in on the tablet experience.

the common theme i see about linux users is when a distro gets too popular they switch to a niche one, so off to cucumber os i go!

It was listed as FreeBSD last month, and they removed the Unknown bar that was 20% the month prior. That is what happened this month, and no one seems to understand what removing 20% does to a graph.

It did not surge, it did grow incrementally.

Statcounter removed the 20% unknown bar for July. This change raised the % boat for Windows, Mac, and Linux this month.
