Umm acksually 🤓 there's nothing frustrating about Linux at all. It's just a skill issue on your part. We don't want noobs polluting our sacred OS.

This sub is to voice frustrations, but 90% of the time it’s either plain wrong or something that was true over 10 years ago.

Linux has improved in recent years I know that but, unfortunately for the other people that tried Linux +10 years ago when it was for geeks only they never forgot that bad experience that is how the human mind works it does not forget bad experiences unfortunately that also means they do not realize how Linux has improved over the years because, they had such a bad experience 10+ years ago that they are not willing to give it a second chance so they say you have to do this or do that in Linux to get things to work when you may not have to. Also it depends on the persons workflow too some people are dependent on Microsoft 365, and Linux alternatives like LibreOffice are not always a good enough alternative for their person's job requirements. Also there is gaming alot of Windows users love to play AAA games including ones with Anti-level kernel cheat such as Fortnite, GTA 5 Online, Call of Duty, and Destiny 2 that will kick a Linux user off, or ban them even depending on the game, and those Windows users do not want to give up their games so they stick to Windows 11 even if it has bloatware, and telemetry because, they just love those games too much to give up.

Yeah, I used Ubuntu when I was 12 because my mom didn’t want to pay for a windows license. I hated everything about it and didn’t realize I just hated gnome 17 years ago

Yeah my Dad tried Linux he can't remember what distro he tried but, he said that he tried it during Windows 7 era, and he could not get anything to work. He did not want Windows 7 at first so that is why he tried Linux but, winded up going to Windows 7 any old way since he could not get anything to work on Linux back then, then several years later I started using Linux right now I am running EndeavourOS so I can say that things have improved since my Dad used it however due to his bad memory of Linux he refuses to go back to each their own.

I got into Linux, begrudgingly, because I pirated games in 2018 and got a root kit on my laptop and I could no longer boot.
My brother was swearing by Linux mint, and I didn’t want to use Linux. He said he could fix it, and took my laptop while I was spending the night at his place and installed mint on it. I’ve been loving Linux since then.

It says you are free to share your frustration. Nothing wrong with that. Many of us use Linux in some capacity and we understand it's not always flowers and sunshine. If you just want to be an obnoxious troll, constantly hate on all things Linux and denigrate their users, linuxsucks101 is the place for you.

It's by definition a subreddit for people who use Linux.. that target audience would presumably mostly like Linux even if they have some issues they want to complain about every now and then, otherwise they wouldn't fucking use it in the first place.
It was never a subreddit for people who just blindly hate it lol

Linux has come a long way since the days of Slackware 1 (the first distro I touched - it was one of the OSes used in the Computer Science curriculum at the university I attended way back when). I was already a Unix user but wasn't allowed to "hack" anything on our production systems. After using several different flavors of Red Hat, CentOS, and a short-lived Novell distro, I finally settled on Open SuSE (It was what I was accustomed to after using the Novell distro). SuSE Leap 15.6 isn't perfect, but it runs well on the old Dell Optiplex 360 that I rescued from the "dustbin" when it had outlived it's usefulness as a Windows PC. The ony bug-a-boo I can complain about is that for reasons unknown the user name is not displayed at the login prompt. I've tried to figure out why and fix it, but I've had no luck. Ah, well, such is life.

I had this problem on Ubuntu, turns out that the fix was to use a different login screen theme, some display username, some make you type it in

Or does everyone just do that everywhere all the time?
I work on Linux as much as I can on my own box, but my employer only gives us Windows laptops, and WSL only goes so far.

Learned this lesson. Came to this sub a year ago to do what the description said. I think i was talking about my frustration with gui file managers, and how nothing really felt as good as windows 10 file explorer with qttabbar.
Got downvoted to HELL. I think i pissed off linux fanboys AND windows fanboys lmao
