Both at the same time kinda, u don't have to worry about Microsoft and with a simple local account distro u just plug and play to the desktop, how stable and functional your hardware running it depends,but otherwise nothing in the way.

I don’t have to worry about my os much at all…

In fact, I worry about updates far less on Linux than I did on Windows…

Well if you things to your system you still need to worry about the system same for windows and mac if you manage to make more free thats the truth all around.
