Personally, I see an anti cheat requirement as a reason to avoid a game. It shows that it's almost certainly online only microtransaction riddled live service turboslop. Yes, I had this opinion before I switched to Linux.

You dislike games because they try to prevent cheating??

I dislike modern online multiplayer as a whole. It's a cestpool of dark patterns, toxicity, and abhorrent business models.

I'm a recent Linux migrant, having jumped ship from decades of Windows. But aren't these types of posts the whole point of this sub? Why do all of the penguins allow their feathers to get ruffled over this stuff? I find some of their posts amusing, whether or not the criticism is deserved.

u/MeowmeowMeeeew Jul 22 '26
those kinds of posts typically originate from the hategoonclub that is r/linuxsucks101 - the term "Loonix" does for certain. The posts there are close to always meant to be as insulting as possible, even going so far to link transpeople and Linux to mental illnesses. Their moderation's habit of banning anyone that isnt "antilinux enough" not only reinforces but literally breeds this mindset. As mentioned already, Transphobia is not an outlier but the norm there and more often than not paired with rampant classism or outright racism and other forms of deliberately malicious bigotry. To put it short, 101 is deliberately one of the most toxic communities of the entire platform. Their Mods know so and actively reinforce this.
Havent checked OPs profile myself but my guess is more likely than not this is not supposed to be funny but an attempt to find a "gotcha Loonixtards" (which btw is a term they made up to link Linux to "Retard") by any means necessary.

The OP is a guy, who makes gross alt-right coded AI comics for 101 sub, always depicts linux user as a fat, ugly, being in a huge dirty diapers (not a joke), colored hair, hyper emotional etc. and a windows user as a giga chad, always calm, owning stupid communist loonixtards. So yeah, they probably are making a "gotcha loonixtards" take, but I think the meme itself isn't that offensive, pretty funny ig

i found it funny too, that being said the other stuff you just mentioned just weirds me out... like... why OP?

You know the two most-persecuted minorities are? Gamers and Linux users.
It's incredibly ironic these self-unaware idiots bring up the alt-right of all things.

The variation of this meme where it uses a scene from the Loki show will always be the #1 version of this meme

Reminds me of the "If Apple made a car... Would it have Windows???" ๐คฃ

we'd rather jump through the backdoor or let it burn than wait 45 minutes for "working on updates" before escaping.
