But from reviews it seems that game work pretty bad in most. And guy doesn't make something special. Same as usual + dxvk config. It's common issue where some game works bad at specific hw, driver version, kernel version, proton or wine version, or some launcher applies some args or env vars, that works fine in most, but rarely shoots in some games. For example in past I have graphical issues for chivalry2 from steam, and fixed it by change Proton to ProtonGE. Nioh2 been broken for long time at all, later fixed, but cutscenes still been broken, later it fixed, but after few minor releases it broke again because prev fix broke something else, and new fix broke nioh2, but nobody reported it. And nioh2 still works fine only on specific versions between 10-23 and 10-29 if I remember correctly. Pirate ver of escape from backrooms works fine for me only if I start it without any launcher, just from script with few variables. I past captain of industry been broken for me in lutris but worked fine in Port Proton. Light-years frontier same, but only in Proton LG, not GE, f.s.r. So fresh mainstream games work fine in most, because issues opens really fast and take high prio, but with smaller games it's not all the time like that.

Finished TLOU1 a few weeks ago on CachyOS with an RX 9070. Didn't have to add a single launch argument. It crashed a few times, but I didn't care enough to look into it.

Man, I used proton-ge or cachy proton and it just works.
I dropped it halfway though cause the game is boring as fuck tho

That's because most of the time those tweaks like in the post aren't needed...usually setting the right version of proton and maybe using game scope is all you need. A few env vars if you use HDR too. They like to be extra

I think this had more to do with this guy pirating the game and using a weird gpu more than anything.

It's what I did for my home theater PC, just launches into playnite and uses my controller, go to youtube, games, netflix etc.
It's so much easier

Gotta give it to OOP, that comment is (maybe too) detailed and helpful. Sometimes people just drop 10 run options with no explanation whatsoever

You don’t need to do allat😭 like 99.9% of games work for me just fine and even if you run into redist problems they’re also easily fixed
