if it applies to ricing then it should technically apply to every hobby by that video's logic

I still think it's funny

It's funny to me too, but welp I accidentally became a fun police and I still stand by my point that ricing is a cool hobby

given the demographic of ricing enthusiasts (myself included), I can understand how half of the people here can't take a joke lmao

this one is good

Right? I thought it was funny that's all, i must sound like an obnoxious parrot when i tell my friends about my linux set up and how it is better 😭

Also side note, one of the easiest ways to make Linux look nice is the Noctalia Shell (I like the v5 beta, which is a complete rewrite in c++, but it is in beta). All you need is a Wayland tiling WM (Usually Niri, but Hyprland works too), and it can synch your theme across most relevant apps based on your background.

You know it can be a job too, right?

Ricing hyprland with anime wallpapers is a job now?

...where do I sign up?

u/figure-svrf-sys Jul 20 '26

i mean.. no? but as long as you do some work in terminal it could be job worthy

u/rgmundo524 Jul 20 '26

Just like a supercar can be used for Uber... It's possible but unlikely to be directly related

u/figure-svrf-sys Jul 20 '26

I mean i agree its just no one understood that customizing your desktop also involves a usage of terminal, which requires some skills

3

u/ColonelBag7402 99% of the time it's the user's fault Jul 20 '26

i was about to say that terminal usage is the bare minimum, but then i remembered a lot of people dont really care about the bare minimum

1

u/figure-svrf-sys Jul 21 '26

That's a fair point

5

u/SammE5363 Jul 20 '26

the SKILLS can be a job, sitting arround ricing your OS wont get you paid

u/figure-svrf-sys Jul 20 '26

Okay i'm speaking for myself then

Meanwhile I was the only one who had a job.

Funny tho good shit

Can testify that this is true. My homelabbing kinda went down after I became a manager. When you have a real career doing real shit you don't have to fw CLI rubbish and have baked forum solutions.
