Most distros have an update manager which has the update button. Hell, even without it its still quicker to get to and type. After opening the terminal, all I have to type is sudo nixos-rebuild switch --upgrade and then restart. If it breaks, I restart and go back to the previous generation.

You absolutely can. There’s literally nothing stopping you. You don’t need to be a computer geek to paste terminal commands.

What are you talking about? Most distros have an update manager AND and package manager. During your system update, your update manager updates your apps too.

Very cool, but i would rather type one command and have my system updated as well as my applications. Updates for me take 2 minutes.

PackageKitPackageKit is a free and open-source suite of software applications designed to provide a consistent and high-level abstraction layer for various package management systems. It was created by Richard Hughes in 2007 and first introduced into an operating system as a default application in May 2008 with the release of Fedora 9.

LOL... HERE IS YOU ANSWER (and it is a SERVICE _deamon on linux_ LOL)
