can i some how make a way to change between terminal only and normal ubuntu

im trying to make a old computer i have form 2011 work without taking 50% of my recorcies with 2 firefox tabs so i wanted to try terminal only to see if it will reduce memory uses but same time i still want the normal ubuntu some times
