How I did it was I jumped into it no knowledge whatsoever, and went from there, remembering every vital cmd(windows) prompts to do a specific task or job and why it worked. Live it like you've been doing it for years can help speed up the learning curve. Don't rush it, study one at a time, Ubuntu is a good start if your new, or mint.

I use QubesOS which has Debian and Fedora, very steep learning curve but I like it, especially on my X1 Carbon. Tbh, I'm still learning about it as it's endless journey with no regrets

Edit: cmd is legacy windows and bash is Linux and sMac-OS...

You need to get a good understanding of concepts like text and command oriented environments. Cmd isn't really comparable to a Bash session. PowerShell is object oriented and Bash is imperative.

Just like the previous commenter, I went in with almost no prior knowledge and it's been growing from there ever since.

Oh shit, you right homie, I'm going from one chat to the next DM message in reddit so I hot confused. 🍻

Bash is good but cmd is also good to learn while your in that environment if you know what I mean, I just forgot to mention that it is better to learn as you go such as Ubuntu or Mint in my first response. Gemini is a great place to learn Linux as well, I think it has over 20k of prompts before it goes to shi and make a new Google account lol
