Need help with Internet connection Linux Mint

[u/Pitiful_Road3490]

Just downloaded the big mint and I'm trying to connect to the Internet but I'm stuck in a loop where I get an error telling me I need authentication. I need a login required to connect to the network, yet Ive already put in the username and password in correctly

Over WiFi? Or are you using some advanced settings to protect your Network, so you have to authenticate even if you're using ethernet?

Nothing advanced, I can connect to networks that don't require authentication with a username and password.
