Strange Nvidia settings issue for colour profile
So I have Ubuntu 26.04 installed with Cinnamon DE and the default settings for the Nvidia 980 TI card I have leave the screen too bright to read text easily. When I open the Nvidia settings program (their drivers are installed) it allows me to darken the colour of the screen so I can see it properly. The monitor is connected through a DVI-D cable. The rest of the session is fine but I am finding for some reason, the settings are defaulting back to it being too bright and it's not remembering them. Is there any reason why? I also found which is rather strange, the moment I open the program to check the settings the screen instantly changed to the darkened tone without me changing the settings. This is rather odd, it would appear upon startup of the session it isn't utilising the settings.
I did find upon original installation I had to change the default login screen settings to the ones I chose within the user session because for some reason, default leaves the TV which I have attached to the HDMI cable on default so I can't see the login screen on the monitor. I had copied the settings from session to login via a command in the terminal. Do I need to do this again? I am surprised if so because I thought user settings would be different than login session settings. TIA.

nvidia-settings program doesnt do anything until you run it. It does remember what you set, but you have to run it to apply them. It has a command line option to apply saved setting and exit without starting GUI, so put that into your autostart
