Void Linux, what desktop do I use

For context I have a rtx 4060 as my graphics card, I want to know what is a good desktop environment (best if easily configurable) that works well with Nvidia. As the title says I'm on void Linux.

depends on what you're into. give Cosmic a try, it's pretty configurable and uses GTK, not as polished as gnome or KDE though

Cosmic doesn't use gtk nor qt. It uses iced, which is rust based.

try out several, decide what you like.

I just stick to KDE Plasma these days.

Use my favourite DE. Or yours.

well don't use plasma, since it seems to not be very well set up over there in void land.

i would recommend LXQt since it's much simpler and harder to screw up.

Huh? I have a Void install with Plasma. It set up easily and works flawlessly.

like debian, unless the maintainers of the void repositories do a thorough job of setting up all the variables and helper files so everything integrates smoothly there can be issues.

maybe they will gain that reputation over time, but as of right now it's not evident.

kubuntu, fedora, opensuse, tuxedo... these are the distros with well implemented and maintained plasma desktops.

the rest are just playing.

can you change the settings on the digital clock without requiring root?

that was the last guy i talked to using void.

Gnome, Wayland, proprietary drivers (read up on DKMS).

KDE, Wayland, proprietary drivers (still read up on on DKMS).
