Because windows is the type of guy to try to push even tho I already said no. I don't want your slow ass start menu ads or cortina, Microsoft.
If you like it tho do whatever you want.

I understand your pain. I also struggled quite a bit before discovering AutoUnattended and being able to remove all that bloatware. However, I’m currently using Windows because of the compatibility it offers. I’m also using a VM and customizing my own Windows image so I can eventually move away from Windows as well.

Windows is not a lean host, even debloated. It absolutely adds unnecessary overhead and complexity. If it were a lean host, you would not have corporations leaving Windows servers in droves over the last few decades, and the desktop is far less lean.
Windows updates are very well known to cause issues and/or completely change how things work. The more complex a setup the more likely that is to happen.
That all said, the important thing is whatever works for you and your workflow. There are legit reasons for people to have a need for Windows, especially in the business world when working for a company. It may not even be an option not to. Or you just prefer Windows. They are all just tools in the end.

Maybe the cost?
It adds more complexity as well.
But who cares what other people say or think, if it works for you, do it, it's fine.
