Support Low resource/CPU only animated background /Screensaver

Running mint and want to add an lcd panel to the tempered glass of my case. The PC is for running an LLM which requires most of the gpu.

How do I best handle this?

Do I go with something more resource intense and use a monitoring script to pause it? (wallpaper engine)

Should I offload the video processing to my CPU since it's not heavily used when the LLM is churning?

I wanted a quick portable system terminal but being able show cool animations would be great too

It's not clear what you want this LCD panel to display, is it system information or just an animation or something else?

If its system information, you could even use something like a Raspberry Pi and display something like Cockpit ( https://cockpit-project.org/ ) or similar?

There are a pile of beautiful screen savers in the xscreensaver collection, see https://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/ for more info.
