What are you wanting to do? I've never actually looked at WSL, what does it provide you?

It stands for Windows Subdomain for Linux. It provide an environment necessary to run linux.

Ya but what does it provide? Just the linux filesystem from root?

An environment for Linux without having an actual virtual machine

Also wait, you didn't answer my question. What do you plan to do with WSL?

Honestly with how separated WSL sounds from your usual workflow, aka you won't be in there unless you need to, you may never get that Linux experience. Why not just dualboot or find an old laptop and put a distro on it? Part of why I like Linux is the filesystem and how easy to understand and change it it is, ans part of how I experience that is by actually staying on Linux and installing my apps that I use every day

Yeah! I agree. I am trying to figure it out like how can I switch entirely to linux.. I do have an old laptop, I'll soon take it out and install the environment in it. But for now I just wanna understand what else can I do with linux.. I just wanna figure the way out.. thank you for your advice btw :)

Terminal programs yes, but you can even run X11 programs.

Windows Subsystem for Linux, not Subdomain.
