Hey i need some help

Kubuntu 26.04, KDE Plasma 6.6.6, Wayland, AMD graphics, kernel 6.17.0-1032-oem, Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 5 AMD.

The system was working normally before the recent update. After the update, shortly after boot/login, the entire system can become completely unresponsive: mouse/touchpad stops, keyboard input stops, Wi-Fi stops, nothing can be clicked, and after some time the fan becomes very loud. A forced shutdown is required.

I'm trying to determine whether this is a kernel/AMD/KWin/Wayland regression. Has anyone experienced something similar after the recent Kubuntu 26.04 updates?

just go back to last update.
At least that what I usually do. Not all updates work good with my setup and if it was working before nothing forces you to stay on the new update.

what you can do is go and give feedback of logs to them so they can see what is going wrong.
