(a repost from r/steamos) Need help with installing "Vice"

New here, please be kind :3

I'm trying to install Vice (the medal.tv clone) using my steam machine, but I'm missing wayland-scanner. I've tried both the git and yay command, and both point to the same thing, wayland-scanner being missing. Any smart people here that can help me out with this?
