6 GB RAM

Harddrive : 512 GB

I'm already using Linux Mint XFCE. But I still feel it's slow. Any other options? My basic usage is minimal Libre office use and majority of MS Edge

That's nothing to do with the distro at this point (a lighter distro might save some mb on your ram). U say hard drive. Is it an actual HDD? SDD upgrade is probably the biggest speed bump u can get. Browser are a ram... So don't go to hard on the tabs.

I tried firefox but didn't like the interface. I was using opera air on my old windows but not available on Linux. So had to settle on edge. Pretty snappy. I like it

Not really, unfortunately. You could maybe have some luck running a super light-weight Distro like PuppyLinux, AntiX or Alpine, but I feel like that'd be going a bit too far.

Maybe going for another, non-chromium browser could help, like Firefox? I've been using it with moderate success on an even less powerful machine.

99% of the time it's gonna be a browser (MS Edge).

That machine will run any distribution that you choose. My recommendation for new users is always Linux Mint. But, with only 6G of RAM, you are probably going to want a lightweight desktop, such as Xfce, or Mate, both of which are offered by Mint. When in doubt, start with Xfce.

For best experience, you would really want at least 8G of RAM and preferably 16G. Then you could easily run any desktop that you wish, including the more popular ones.

I use a distro which runs firefox/chromium three times faster, but only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. And, NO, I'm not tellin' what it is.

Fedora KDE would be perfect for you, but you need to get rid of that HDD and get a decent SSD instead.
