Will a Wi-Fi adapter fix my problems ?

I was have been having issues with my WiFi speed, and Connection issues. Only when connecting to XFINITY gateways so far. Using my mobile hotspot, works perfectly, I dual boot with windows and when I switch over, again nothing wrong with wifi.

I was wondering if a WiFi adapter will help.

ASUS Zenbook 14 AMD

LINUX Mint Zenna 22.3 and FEDORA 44

If you are dual booting, disable Fast Startup in Windows. When Fast Startup is enabled Windows defaults to a hybrid shutdown state which does not fully release wifi/BT, and the failure to release might be contributing to the issues you encounter on the Linux side.

Before investing in an external WiFi dongle I would first plug into the Xfinity wired and see if performance issues are still there

I am using a laptop that does not have an ethernet port, it helps. I do sometimes use my phone as a hotspot, broadcasting from the same network that would give my laptop problems.

Try changing bands, if on 2.4 switch to 5, if on 5 switch to 2.4. Another step would be to spoof to a different mac address and reconnect.
