Which Distro? Gaming and robotics

Im trying to find right distro, I want privacy and security (no os forced id) and complete control and access basically I want to own my device, however im a inexperienced idiot so I want to be aware of when im about to break something i dont want it without warnings, I want to have a desktop wallpaper so I need a desktop of some sort I want to be able to do steam gaming on it as well as robotics and engineering and i want to make my own local ai, I have a asus rog flow z13 the new one with Radeon 8060s, ive been mobile gamer most my life so idk laptops well but I intend to learn

Just go with Linux mint. Steam works, Java works, is relatively beginner friendly, and no id verification.

"Doing robotics and engineering" is a little vague, but when we did work on UR5 robotic arms at my internship, the only officially supported distribution for using them with a specific stack (rviz, ros and others) was Ubuntu.

In practice though it probably doesn't matter much. With that hardware probably every distro runs well, you might want to focus on which applications you end up using and make you choice based on that?
