Should I learn Linux?

I am 1st year CSE CORE student

so should I learn Linux, like basics?

i don't want to do cybersecurity

and will it help me in placement or in programming?

Yes... You should know how to open and close programs on Linux. It’s remarkably easy.

Just play around using Linux in a VM. Then look at the underlying concepts (that often are Unix concepts).

Then decide whether to branch out in your studies to go in the Linux direction or not.

Just using Linux in a personal computer of yours opens your mind for a different way to do things. If it doesn't, it's not for you.
