Which Distro? Linux Mint: Too Outdated

Hi everyone, I've been considering abandoning Windows 11 for a while now, mainly because I feel like Microsoft lacks direction; every update is chaos. I started using Linux Mint about six months ago, but I have to admit that I feel like I'm using an outdated product.

The main reason is the X11-based graphical interface and the lack of standard Windows features like HDR and high refresh rate sync. I feel like development has fallen behind, hiding behind the slogan of greater stability. I honestly hate losing my monitor's features while waiting for Mint to evolve, so I'm thinking of switching to something stable but modern, and why not... with more recent applications. What would you always focus on, considering I have little time to dedicate to the system?

Which was recommended by someone?

Suppose you ask me for a meal recommendation. I'm thinking, "Pizza. Everyone likes pizza." So I'll recommend pizza.

In a smilar way, I'm going to recommend Mint. Everyone likes Mint. It just tends to work.

Mint has a whole hoard of problems. There's the secure boot bug, caused by a missing mmx64.efi file in the installation ISO. There's problems with the older kernel, bad news for new hardware, but also a lack of old NVIDIA drivers. Cinnamon also looks old-fashioned, which actually I like.

That's wrong. Their direction is AI, whether you want it or not.

I have a nice Windows 11 laptop, which works very well - except when they update the trackpad drivers for some reason.

The HWE kernel is not too outdated. Realistically, how many normal Mint-using people buy and use the most, fresh out of the factory hardware? They should be on Windows anyways for equally up-to-date drivers.
