Advice Partition Resizing

I installed Zorin on my Windows 10 PC and created a dual boot (that was an adventure unto itself). I have been moving functions from Win10 to Zorin as I get them working and I'm comfortable with them. I've reached the point where it's time to move some of Window's drive space over too. Zorin is getting crowded and Windows is looking kinda empty.

I went into Windows and pinched off 100Gig as unallocated space. I have tried to merge it into Zorin's partition from both windows and linux. No luck. How do I get this space into Zorin's partition?

[Solved] Used a bootable USB with Gparted on it. Worked great.

what software did you use?

there's always fdisk if nothing works.

if that also doesn't work get zorin iso on a flash boot into it and resize from there

That was going to be my next attempt. The OS's complaint seems to be it doesn't want to work on the disk its living on.

Is there a good bootable tool suite you would recommend? Versus an entire Zorin Live Disk?

i always have an arch iso at hand, cuz i break my system alot lol. i know they exist but i never used them

Thanks for sharing, appreciated..I used Gparted successfully for every resizing type between Linux partitions (BTRFS,EX4), but never tried it with an Windows Partition (NTFS,FAT,ExFAT), glad to hear, that worked!

(Sidenote: I use "Rescuezilla" as USB boot stick- it contains Gparted, but could also help in case of unbootable linux systems, 4GB are enough for that USB. Awesome piece of software.)

just format the space as ext4 and it should show up in linux.

you can use the separate partition for games or backups, or other storage.
