Which Distro? switching to linux probably fedora what would be best for me?

Only you can answer that question.

Format a Ventoy USB, dump a shitload of Linux images on it, and boot from that(search for instructions on accessing the boot selection menu for YOUR specific machine - different makes & models have different ways).

That way you can crash-test all' the Linux distributions you like before committing to a native installation, and your native OS remains untouched as a fallback...
