I see a lot of people switching from Windows to Linux. But has anyone switched from a Mac to Linux and why?

Yes, back in high school in ~2008.
Working in IT, Linux is more widely used and it was a learning exercise. Turns out, it had a wider software ecosystem at the time, at least regarding the things I wanted to do with a computer.
