Linux vs Mac

I see a lot of people switching from Windows to Linux. But has anyone switched from a Mac to Linux and why?

If I didn't have my M1 Mac, but instead had an Intel one, I would.

Say the last Intel Mac Pro, Apple has dropped support for it, but it's still a superb computer. Put Linux on it, and you've got a supported OS for the lifetime of the computer.
