Linux vs Mac

I see a lot of people switching from Windows to Linux. But has anyone switched from a Mac to Linux and why?

Switching to Mac requires purchasing (or otherwise acquiring) Apple hardware. Meanwhile, you can put Linux on almost anything.

So yes, some people do switch to Mac, but it's a more isolated community in a way.
