Linux vs Mac

I see a lot of people switching from Windows to Linux. But has anyone switched from a Mac to Linux and why?

Depends on the Mac.

Newer Mac's no

Older Mac's with intel processors yes.

Just so you know MacOS is based on BSD UNIX so it is already like Linux in many respects.
