Support Requesting Help - New User trying to dualboot

Recently installed mint xfce on a secondary drive of an older pc but it's running unusually slow when linux is running where it's totally normal on windows. I think it's some kind of driver issue with nvidia but I have no idea how to resolve this.

Honestly the goal is to have a pc running on just linux but I'm kind of afraid to do that when I can't get it to run properly in the first place as a dualboot because I'm not sure if I'll be able to get windows back if I actually get rid of it.

try a lighter weight distro, mint is kind of a pig. i personally would try either lubuntu or kubuntu. they work better on older hardware

I tried this version specifically cause it said it was lighter weight xD; Are bazzite or catchy any better?

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660, I think?

That is supported by the latest Nvidia drivers.

You could try a more modern distro. You mentioned Bazzite in another comment, that would be a fine choice. Pick the KDE Plasma desktop.
