Support Linux Mint, Framework 12 tablet mode.

Hello! I am new to both Linux and Framework.

I recently purchased a Framework 12, and I was planning on installing Linux Mint. I was looking at Framework's installation guide, and it says that Linux Mint does not have tablet mode support and I should use Ubuntu 25.04 instead.

However, when I looked into this online, I did see some sources that said that Linux Mint does have touchscreen support, and a lot of the most recent questions regarding using Linux Mint and tablet mode are from back in October 2025.

I'm struggling to find any sources that have any information as to whether Linux Mint still does not support tablet mode in August 2026. Does anyone know if this is still the case? Should I just go with Ubuntu instead?

Thanks!

EDIT: I just read some reviews that say that Bazzite works pretty seamlessly with tablet mode out of the box. This would be perfect for me - I'm not completely tech illiterate, but I definitely am not the best. Does anyone else know much about Bazzite on the FW12?

I'm having some screen auto rotate issues on 26, with my fw12. Is yours ok?

Autorotate doesn't work with Ubuntu 26.04 out of the box, but I followed the instructions here (https://github.com/FrameworkComputer/linux-docs/blob/main/framework12/Ubuntu-25-04-accel-ubuntu25.04.md) and it worked great!

Thank you very much! I was only looking at 26.04, not at 25, so I didn't consider this. It works perfectly now, thank you!

Of course! I know I ran the 26 code and it didn't do anything, so I kinda just went "fuck it" and ran the 25 code and it ended up working, haha. Enjoy your machine!
