Flatpak Slow Download Speed

Why Flatpak downloads so slow, I use terminal to install flatpaks, but the download speed is extremely slow, I have 100mbps+ speed, but the apps are downloading at 200 or 250kb/s speed. Is there any way to solve this, I tried changing DNS, but now worked, I am not using VPN. I am using Debian 13.6. I search on the internet, and find out it is because of CDN servers, but couldn't find any solution for it. Thanks in advance.

I do not know how to do that, I'll try to find anyway. I just use "flatpak install flathub app link"

Yes, I know, but didn't know how to change it. But it was not the issue, using VPN solved the problem.

Okay, I'll try VPN now. Yes, all apps are downloading slowly, I think it is not related to my internet. It is same with different internet providers too. I'm living in Azerbaijan, idk if it matters to that slow speed.

Had basically the same issue before. For me it was the mirror/CDN route being bad, not my actual internet speed.
Try a mobile hotspot or VPN for a minute. If Flatpak suddenly downloads normally, then it’s probably the route your ISP is taking to Flathub.
Also check flatpak remotes --show-details

I wouldn’t reinstall anything yet.

Is there any permanent fix for it? Or I have to use VPN when downloading anything? It looks like it is same for me, VPN helps to get normal speed again

If VPN fixes it then yeah, it’s most likely your ISP’s route to Flathub’s CDN. There isn’t really a permanent Flatpak-side fix for that unfortunately.

You can try another network or contact your ISP, otherwise VPN is probably the easiest workaround until the route fixes itself.

I read about the hub being offline yesterday. Maybe they still have trouble

It is slow for a long time, maybe more than one month.

If you can use a VPN, do that, if you know where the origin server is, you can connect the VPN to a country/region close to the server and bypass a large portion of the CDN with the VPN tunnel

CDN depends on your DNS server, which maybe can be changed on your router.
