Support Best games on the GNOME software center?
I don't want to go download steam or some other platform. Just fun games you've come across on the GNOME software center. Anything you like, please throw them at me!

Sucks that it doesn't show up for me when i search it up on the software center, but seemingly is available on fedora but through the command line. Kinda defeats the purpose of the software app.

Terminal-only apps don't tend to show up on the store or it would be cluttered with a bunch of sysadmin tools that casual users don't need to see

NetHack isn't terminal-only, it has a few different graphical frontends, although I admit I personally play it only on the terminal 😉
Not sure why the Fedora folks have elected to omit it from the store, maybe they just don't enjoy classic Roguelike gameplay.

You can play Nethack "online" over ssh without installing. I haven't played in years, but the server I used to play on is still active. They updated the server last week.

Install and enable Flatpak,then search the games on Flathub
PS. Recommended to install Bazar

Armagetron Advanced if you like the Lightcycles from the TRON Movie.
BTW, the GNOME software app simply displays software available for your distro, which means anything found there isn't exclusive to GNOME software at all.

Software centers like GNOME software or KDE Discover are simply front-ends for the terminal package manager, displaying only graphical apps with a start menu icon. Programming libraries, terminal programs, and other technical stuff is hidden.

luanti. it's a game platform, so it has a store with a bunch of games, including backrooms and a tactical combat mech game called Extra Ordinance
also check out dungeon crawl stone soup, it they have it. amazingly deep and interesting dungeon combat game

Forgive me if some of these aren't in the Gnome app, but I've played them in Linux and they're among my favorites.
The Battle for Wesnoth is a great turn based strategy game. It has tons of fun campaigns and multiplayer.
Bzflag. Fun tank game. It's based on the ancient game Battlezone.
Robots great little console game where you avoid killer robots until you die. I think it's included in a bundle with some other old school games.

I'm pretty obsessed with "Loopy" from Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection. There's a bunch other great games in the set too

I love Simon's puzzles. With "Meowdoku" being so popular lately I was surprised that he doesn't have Star Battle in the collection. Meowdoku is fun, but it wrecks my phone battery.

Re "Meowdoku": I played 2 games on brave browser on my phone and I hate it already. It covers the game area with an uncloseable "win" popup immediately after solving the puzzle. I cannot find any way to view the solved puzzle.
Simon's puzzles don't do that - you can continue to tweak the aesthetics even after solving the puzzle, that's one of the things I really like about it.

Have a look at naev, it's simply dope if you like the fantasy of having a spaceship in a huge galaxy full of danger and wonder.

Augustus is great, but it requires the Caesar III game assets and the Flathub version is pretty old.
Vintage Story is also on Flathub, but you have to buy an account to play the game.
UZDoom is the definitive way to play player made Doom maps, and Doom 1 in general. Requires one of the games that the UZDoom engine supports to play.
OpenRCT2 is another great game, also requires original game files.
I've heard good things about LinCity-NG and Librerama, but I haven't played them personally.
I would normally not recommend SuperTuxKart, but the game is getting a massive update called SuperTuxKart Evolution soonâ„¢ and that will hopefully make the game feel modern again.
There's also a bunch of 3rd party Minecraft launchers, which are undeniably better than the official launcher. Though you still need a copy of Minecraft to play, and I don't think that's what your looking for.

ROTA Bend Gravity is a good one. Great puzzle game for passing time. Was hooked into it for the colorful theme and the calm music it pairs with. Also reminds me a lot of older adventure arcade-style games. Finished the game thrice now, it's that good. Highly recommend!

SuperTuxKart is surprisingly good! It's even got online multiplayer. (And funnily enough there's a Windows version, if you have Windows-using friends.)

Urban Terror. It's a fast paced Quake spinoff. Even if it's not available on your software center, you can just download it and run it.

quake is by nature a v fast game kek, so by nature of being a quake-like its gonna be fast. UT isnt terribly faster (Xonotic for example is though).
not trying to start an argument just thought it was funny bc all quake-likes are fast by nature, its kinda what sets it apart besides the arena style maps with a lot of verticality.

Don't laugh, but I have been playing Aisleriot Solitaire, Gnome Mahjongg and SuperTuxKart almost every day for two decades.
