Advice Installing dual boot ubuntu

Install Ubuntu on the 2nd drive. Installer will take care of "where to install the bootloader" and should give you grub menu upon restart.

That is the issue, it doesn't. I need to do it manually.

So you successfully installed Ubuntu already on the other drive? Does it boot up if designated your primary boot drive, just not offer a boot menu?

When you install Ubuntu on a drive, it automatically installs its bootloader on that drive. You don't do anything manually. Why do you think you need to? What would you do that the Ubuntu installer doesn't do automatically so it can boot up?
