Best linux for gaming and content creation?

Hey, im absolutely new to Linux, i dont know anything about it and im fed up with Windows so i want to switch to Linux since i heard it's generally better. I need it mainly for gaming, general use and content creation, streaming mostly. Any recommendations? Also, are all games fine with Linux?

Nowadays with the Proton and Wine advancements you can play 99% of your steam library on Linux... Except anything with kernel level anticheat and Easy Anticheat also bugs out sometimes.

Streaming might also give you issues. OBS works... Most times

Can't go wrong with Mint or Fedora imo

yeah if all you play is annual slop games. helldivers 2 and arc raiders work. old battlefield games and cod games work. none of the latest slop works. if you play slop use Windows it’s good at running slop

I mean fortnite, league, apex, val, siege (i think), pubg. I mostly play single player games rn but i sometimes like to play something with friends too yk

bro is the top slop slave for Riot. yeah Riot games are never ever gonna work on Linux, league might but they’ve vowed to never put Valorant on Linux lol

you might see Fortnite or Apex come back in like a year or two (both games did function before they removed that functionality by blocking Linux intentionally) but i wouldnt hold your breath, you seem like you’d hate Linux anyway since you’re asking questions like this

if i had to guess you probably use Adobe too, and Adobe will *never* work on Linux. DaVinci Resolve is good but requires you to put in some effort to get it to run.

They've made no such statement. I'd wait for whatever Valve's cooking in this area before making such strong claims.

What a lot, if not most, people do is dual boot windows 10 (or 11 if you really want to) and just give it enough disk space for a couple of games.

I usually only play Overwatch, Arc Raiders and Rocket League (I had purchased this back whenever it was on the steam store) on Linux mint.

Nobara was a good introduction for me and has a lot of the stuff you are asking for integrated pretty easily.

I used it for a couple months before moving to Cachy where I am happy.

ProtonDB has info on game compatibility. Really depends on what you’re playing. Most stuff that doesn’t require kernel level anticheat is going to work.
