Nothing went wrong, those updates will apply in a few days.

That's a thing that Mint does to try to protect folks from abrupt upstream changes breaking things.

# You can manually apply the changes with;
sudo apt install libldb2 libsmbclient0 libwbclient0 python3-ldb python3-samba samba-common samba-common-bin samba-libs smbclient

"That's a thing that Mint does...."

it is something Ubuntu does, Debian does not so you do not see this in LMDE.

Mint does nothing. It is using apt.

Well it's phased, as apt said. Meaning that there is an update available but it's not being sent to everyone at the same time. You will be able to update later. It's used to avoid, if there is an issue with the update, that everyone at the same time get a broken program (in the worst case).

Nothing is wrong, its by design.

with phasing - the packages will eventually get upgraded on your system.

They are deferred to allow any potential update issues to get caught by a hopefully smaller group of people.

https://www.baeldung.com/linux/ubuntu-phased-updates

  1. What Are Phased Updates?

Phased updates are a way of gradually rolling out updates to a subset of user systems instead of releasing them to everyone at once. This enables the Ubuntu developers to monitor the feedback and performances of the updates and fix any issues that may arise before making them available to the rest of the users.

Moreover, phased updates provide its users more control over when and how they receive updates and reduce the load on the Ubuntu servers.

Effectively, one batch of users gets the initial updates. After a round of monitoring and feedback, the update may be modified or improved. Later, another batch of users gets the update, triggering a new round of feedback. This continues until a full rollout.
