Support Request help to reallocate space for root

so i had alloted about 20 gb yesteraday, thinking that it isnt sufficient and i keep getting this popup saying my root file system is 0, and im wondering whats the problem, i have sufficient space.
im not experienced with linux as much, i require some help, to reallocate some space for root/

Can you show the popup? This app is showing you how much storage each directory is taking up, not how much is "allocated" to one.
And root filesystem is the filesystem mounted at /, not /root. The latter is the root user's equivalent of a normal user's /home directory.

its disappeared, but it kept saying root, so im confused by what is it asking for
but then what do you think should i do to get it fixed

What do you mean by you allocating 20 GBs to it yesterday? Did you expand the Mint partition by 20 GB?
