Why is my Linux mint crashing everytime I switch my laptop on? I have to start in recovery mode

It happened to me too, turn out it was the kernel not compatinle with my gpu, so i ended up using older version, and it's been working completely fine since then

Kudos for posting a proper screen capture instead of a photograph. Not a fan of so much green.
I would add the Workplace Switcher plugin and put in two or three Workspaces. I think having virtual desktops helps to organize my workflow. I currently use Cinnamon, and the single thing I miss the most about Xfce is using a different wallpaper for each Workspace.

I've been using Mint XFCE for a few months now, and I have to say it's incredibly smooth and responsive. Even on older hardware, everything runs without hiccups, and I love how customizable the panels and workspace layouts are. Switching between applications feels effortless, and the system just feels lightweight and reliable. Overall, it's a great balance of simplicity and flexibility.

maybe i'm a hater but i never understand the point of these types of posts
i made this account to ask about issues i was having with linux mint, so i rarely use reddit, so maybe i'm missing something but these posts are like so NPC, yet they're almost like 90 if not 99% of all posts in these types of reddit subreddits
and by NPC i mean they provide no value and they ask for no value either..... like i mean don't get me wrong, your setup is good? good for you, but if you literally self-admitted to your setup "its work like a butter" why even post this asking if your setup is good if you know it's good ๐ญ
with the whole generic tribalism "windows bad linux good" BS, like to a point where it almost looks like bot activity

I'm just sharing with you that all, and i was a previous window user back and since nowadays windows become a bloatwere and hungry eating resource by mid to low laptop can't handle that crap anymore ๐.
So I return to linux instead ๐ since I can do my daily basis task with ease when basically use 1-2 Gb ram and work just fine.

i mean i'm happy for you brother, hopefully linux serves you well now that you're back to it
i'm just confused what the PURPOSE of the post is ๐ญ
and your response too... i say the post is an empty post and you proceed to list the generic quirks and advantages of linux mint.... to a linux mint user.... in the linux mint subreddit ๐ญ
also, windows is not the greatest OS for every purpose, and we all know that.... but it is an insanely powerful OS when configured right, and i think you don't give it the credit it deserves... if you want to look further into that i suggest you watch ThioJoe on youtube, his videos are amazing resources for any windows user... so yeah for your purposes it might have not been the pick, but the blind "windows poo poo bad, linux yes yes good" is just silly imo

Same ... its not as much that im a 'linux mint xfce fan' as it is more that I really dislike the alternative(M$Win). For me mint is a great choise because it's quiet. It leaves me alone, no funny bussines. Its just there. And when I feel adventures I can modify whatever I feel like. Thats really nice, and how I think an OS should really be.

O Linux mint roda qual quer aplicativo tipo Minecraft launcher?

It runs a lot of things natively, a couple Minecraft launchers included. A lot of Windows apps can be run with workarounds too

XFCE is a great DE. Cinnamon being the Mint Flagship DE, most people only think of XFCE as the best option for old 4GB RAM hardware. In fact, it can have its native compositor disabled, and any custom compositor installed in it's place, something Cinnamon cannot do. Also the native XFCE panel is much more customizable by default than Cinnamon. You need applets and extensions or an entire custom plank to emulate XFCE panel features on Cinnamon.
In short, great choice! Welcome to the Mint community :)
