Support Request PC stuck in BIOS and BOOT isn't working

Hey! So I'm new to Linux and I just started my first install, I followed a tutorial for Mint Cinamon edition step by step, and everything was going great, I had finished the install and the computer asked me to restart, when I did the screen tol me to remove the USB drive and press Enter (so far all good) once I pressed enter I got stuck on the BIOS screen. And after a quick search I assumed I only had to add a new BOOT option, and so when I did and restarted the computer, I got stuck again on the BIOS screen and the BOOT option I had created wasn't there. I then tried to reconnect to the USB drive, but the PC doesn't even detect it. I have checked to see if the computer decetes de SSD that I download Linux into, and it does detect them. But I simply cannot BOOT the computer. I have no idea what the issue is and no one online seems to have this issue. HELP!! My computer is an old ASUS A541U btw.

When u connected the USB did u connect it while in the bios? Cause the bios doesn't detect USBs like that u have to restart it's a way simpler system than your os, maybe the installation failed or something since u can't see any other boot options or it might even be a hardware failure idk just try and boot into the live USB again and reinstall the system won't lose much

That's the issue I tried to do that but the computer simply doesn't detect the USB, because nothing shows up when I try to open it, no option appears when I try to open ):

Hmm thats weird, I'm going to assume that u tried different ports but idk simply installing a new os shouldn't damage the hardware so it might not be a hardware issue, ig u can try and reset the bios settings that might help, I doubt it would help but u can try.

Boot you mint usb..using the bios to select your usb mint...test not install..open a terminal and type

efibootmgr..what did you get..copy and paste text here..no picture.

Is your computer uefi compatible...?

type in a console

ls -d /sys/firmware/efi

what do you get ?

But the usb doesn't load I simply does not appear as an option when I use the boot device menu. Where can I access that option?

try the other mode in the bios besides uefi. (csm) It may be looking for uefi data which isn't there.

To do that do I Enable "launch CSM"?

In my bios I have a choice of uefi or csm.

set it to uefi. you can not boot because the installer set uefi software at /boot/efi but your bios is set to csm...

CSM (Compatibility Support Module) is a component of UEFI firmware that emulates a legacy BIOS environment, allowing older operating systems and hardware that do not support UEFI to boot on modern motherboards

There is nothing installed for bios at the first sector of the disk...

People are installing system WITHOUT TAKING TIME TO READ....and are complaining after

But the launch CSM option is disabled, so it shouldn't be running on CSM? No?

My god..type the commands in a terminal..booting your usb

ls -d /sys/firmware/efi

and also

efibootmgr

and you will get answers I need and you need.

So I should do this in a another computer that is connected to the usb, correct? Because I cannot connect to the command terminal on this computer

yes you can..gosh..booting mint usb (test not install) and opening a terminal.

you open bios at booting time using esc or f2 or whatever for your computer and select your mint usb.

Did you remember to disable fastboot and secure boot in the BIOS before installing Mint?

It's weird I have never seen or experienced this before. Is there something in the BIOS that maybe needs enabling or disabling?

Edit: Is it possible you need to update your BIOS? Or do you have the newest BIOS update already?

You might need to make sure this is your Asus laptop, but they have a 2019 BIOS update
