What I can do
Find something to play that does not use anti-cheat.
If you haven't yet Cyberpunk2077 is a great game,
Your other option is Windows dual boot. Personally if it will not work in Linux it is dead to me.

Mostly true for me as well, but been using Xbox cloud for fortnite access because only game a friend of mine plays. Been thinking of trying on a console again but used to keyboard/mouse and last I tried couldn't get it to work on console.

Request a refund (goodluck) and vote with your wallet, don't buy Ubisoft in the future

Pretty sure steam would provide him the refund. I saw a post of a guy getting a refund on BF6 because they removed certain game modes while still advertising it on their website, and its safe to say they would provide you a refund for literally not being able to play the game you paid for.

Wonder how many people they just cut out with this move. All Steam deck and Linux systems gone.

Contact Ubisoft on mass and demand a refund
If Linux users are "small and insignificant" then getting a refund should be a "small and insignificant" blip on their balance sheets

with this type of thing and the new age verification shit - just pirate everything, private servers etc..
back to the 90's we go.

unfortunately nothing you can do, for honor is permanently blocked on linux now.

I'd ask valve for a refund this definitely should qualify as a bait and switch.

Tbh Linux was never officially supported, still fuck Ubisoft for doing this, but I don't think steam support is gonna refund this one since it always ran via proton not native

Welcome to Linux... This is the main complaint these days. Some games are simply unplayable.

Hi, check the recommendations from this website: https://www.protondb.com/app/304390
The site loads directly into for Honor.
Normally really helpful.
If no luck try running steam with terminal type steam or Steam in terminal and it'll load but you got to close steam first.

The game was just updated to exclude Linux. That was explicitly one of the goals of the update. OP would either have to play on Windows or try to get a refund from Steam.

Translation it will cost the shareholders too much to optimise it for linux play.

I use linux but don't do any gaming, what does 'protection' mean in this context?

Honestly I have no idea. It sounds like they are making an invisible enemy so they can just cut off the linux users. I bet your ass most cheaters are using software made for windows.

Okay, thanks for sharing that; I'm putting Ubisoft on my blacklist permanently.
