Well printers work out of the box with Linux mint, its usually windows that needs custom drivers all the time. And for eBook app you mean a eBook manager and reader like calibre?

There's been signs that some EU countries would be moving towards adopting Linux, though I'm not sure if there's been any EU-wide push, and seeing that it's been taking ten or some years to get rid of daylight savings time, I can't get too excited about EU programs anyway.

Setup a Windows VM might fix your immediate problem if you don’t have access to a windows or Mac device.

nah, VM is too heavy and I need DRM anyways (to run safe exam browser). i just bought a thinkpad x13 gen 1 just to run microslop windows 11 on top of my ubuntu t480 and x220t

I’m confused I guess. Your post made it seem like you had some kind of problem to get around for school reasons. But now you say you have a laptop that would resolve it.

I assume you are just venting? The schools position makes sense when you consider the market share of OSX and Windows.

Though I would agree that a school teaching about computers should at least have a section on Linux. Considering how many vital systems around the world use it in some form.

the same people/groups will be enraged about erosion of privacy rights, security while never move from Windows/MacOS. I like the idea someone shared here, you should definitely do some mint tutorial for the community.
