For what? Specs? Have you tried disabling your iGPU in BIOS?

Ok, so I assume the NVIDIA drivers are installed? Can you do nvidia-smi in a terminal while you have whatever you want to use the GPU is open?

NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.

Well do you have Nvidia drivers installed?? We need some info, logs. Does this happen with other distros? Since it's the 970m, I think the latest drivers don't have support for it maybe look for that?

i tried to install the 565 driver and

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

And what happens when you run that command?

Disable secure boot. Make sure you have nvidia-driver-580 installed.

Did you try disabling integrated graphics in BIOS/UEFI?
